[The window had been left open for the birds, of course. So he was indeed expecting a bird of some sort to come flapping in through that window at some point.

Not a knitted one though, and getting beaned upside the head with it wasn't exactly a typical daily occurrence either.]

[ It tilts its head, watching his reaction. That seems to be all the 'payment' it requires, as it quickly makes a tactical retreat down the tower and away with a rapid scrabbling of limbs.

Or well. Tries to anyway. If he actually wants to make it stay there and explain itself he'll have to scruff it like a cat or something. ]
